White Card Online

If you have never worked in the construction industry before or you have lost your White Card; then the online White Card course is just for you.  The White Card online course is always conducted by experienced and passionate construction industry specialists, providing you with a higher level of construction knowledge, skills and most importantly confidence.

This course will help introduce you to or serve as a reminder of the current health and safety legislative requirements, personal awareness, and the basic principles of risk management for working in the construction industry in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others.

During the White Card online course we will cover identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

The White Card online course is a mandatory requirement for individuals seeking to work in the construction industry.  The White Card obtained in this course replaces the former QLD Construction Induction (Bluecard).

Prior to your interview session you will be sent a link that will enable you to install the required program to complete the interview.

Practical Assessment Interview

This course requires you to book and complete a live online interview session with an approved Assessor in which you must demonstrate putting on personal protective equipment. It is a Training Package requirement that this interview is conducted and all Registered Training Organisations must adhere to these requirements for this course.

This interview will be conducted live and will take only 15 minutes. The interview is to be completed in English and will be recorded.

Please be sure to carefully read all instructions regarding the Practical Assessment Interview before booking your timeslot for the interview to ensure that you are ready.

To help you prepare for the interview, there is a revision module contained within the course. There is also a printable workbook that you may like to download and use to prepare some responses to commonly asked questions similar to those that may be asked at the interview. You must be able to answer 100% of the questions at the interview so we strongly recommend that you prepare using the workbook.

Please ensure you are ready and that you have all the required equipment prior to booking your session. If you are unable to answer all of the questions and demonstrate all of the required PPE the interview will be terminated and you will need to book another session. A rebooking fee will be applied each time this occurs.

You will be required to rebook and a rebooking fee will also apply if you fail to attend your scheduled interview time slot.

Equipment Requirements

IMPORTANT:  For the live interview you will require the following equipment:

•    Hard hat (must be a construction hard hat – can not be substituted with bicycle helmet etc)
•    Protective glasses or goggles
•    Earmuffs or earplugs
•    High visibility retro reflective vest

Please make sure that you have all of these items on hand before you book your interview session.

During the Practical Assessment Interview you will be required to physically demonstrate how to put on the eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility retro reflective vest and hard hat. You will need to put each of those items on and make adjustments so that it fits correctly.

If you book your interview but do not have the required equipment, your interview will be cancelled and you may have to pay a re-booking fee to reschedule another interview.

What can you do if you do not have own or have access to this equipment?

You can either borrow the items or buy the equipment required from any hardware store, such as Bunnings or Mitre 10.

As another option, you can purchase a training pack of PPE equipment through the following online shop:  Online White Card Student PPE Pack

Please note – this equipment is for Training Purposes only and does not conform to standards required for use on a construction site. The equipment will then be sent out to you by express post.
